BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Cooper received her medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1999. She completed her Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry residencies at Weill Cornell Medical Center in 2003 and 2004, respectively, and was the recipient of the outstanding teaching award given by the Cornell medical students. Dr. Cooper joined the faculty of Weill Medical College of Cornell University in 2005, where she is currently Assistant Professor in Psychiatry, and is a frequent lecture on substance use disorders and wellness.

Dr. Cooper is has been in private practice for over 20 years and has held a number of Medical Director positions throughout her career. She has a stellar reputation throughout the country and beyond, due to her passion and dedication.

Dr. Cooper has been selected by her peers as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor every year since 2014 and awarded with the Exceptional Women in Medicine since 2017. She has received the 5 year honoree award for selection by patients for the Compassionate Doctor Award, Patients Choice, and On Time Doctor Award.

 

Dr. Cooper serves on the Advisory Board of The David Nee Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that seeks to support and encourage organizations devoted to preventing suicide among adolescents and young adults through diagnosis, treatment, education, and research. 

Since 2012, Dr. Cooper is a member of the Collaborative team at Ferguson Behavioral Health Consulting, an organization that aims to improve the visibility and accessibility of quality treatment options and help families move out of crisis and into a solution.
